More than 30 children from the crisis areas in the Iraq have been treated through the assistance of doctors and hospitals, amongst which are also the doctors of the Paracelsus-Klinik.
Mohammed Iskandar (19-year-old boy)
from Erbil, partial paralysis after a car accident The Luftbrücke Irak organized multiple entry and treatment of Mohammed from Iraq, for refilling of the Baclofen pump. The first to missions were with friendly assistance of the Marienhospital and the Franziskus-Hospital Harderberg.
Lamya, (18-years-old from Mosul)
was kept hostage by ISIS for 22 months, she lost her parents and family, on the flight she accidentally stepped on a mine and doing so lost one eye and damaged the whole face.
We are taking care of Lamya since Mai 2016, in the eye clinic Tübingen as well as with laser therapy for her face. Lamya’s treatment will take about another year. Our association will support the young lady further on. She was accompanied by us to different events at the EU Parliament and other conferences, where she was invited as a witness and victim of the terror organization IS. We are organizing social and psychological support with the friendly assistance of the social workers of the city of Ulm as well as the Yazidi community in Baden-Wuerttemberg.
Sabrina, (18-year-old girl, terror victim)
ISIS hostage, with brain tumor/cavernoma. Sabrina was in our care from Dec 2015 – March 2016. In cooperation with INI Hannover, we operated her in Germany and organized psychological and social support for her. Sabrina returned to her home country after her successful treatment.
Diwan, (6-year-old child from Baadra, blind)
In cooperation with the Blindenhilfswerk (blind aid organization) we brought Diwan to Germany in 2012 for treatment and precise diagnosis.
Ibrahim, (a 12-year-old boy from Basra)
Terror victim, had lost both lower legs during a terrorist attack. We used two prostheses for him and treated him in Hanover. In 2012, Ibrahim flew back home after successful treatment which took 3 months.
Mary, (a girl from Kerkuk, Duz, burn victim)
She was first brought to Germany through the Luftbrücke Irak in 2009. Mary is undergoing permanent treatment and is brought home yearly through the help of the Luftbrücke.
At the moment, she is living with a German host family. Our association looks after Mary further on and built a bridge between Mary, parents and the host mother.
Lobna Choqee, (16-years-old)
Patient from the province Mosul, hat a tumor disease in her brain. She was operated in cooperation with the Paracelsius Klinikum Osnabrueck twice, 2009, 2012.
Ibrahim, (9-years-old from Basra)
Together with his father, he was a victim of a terrorist attack in Basra. The child lost his father and both legs through it.
The little Ibrahim was treated on-site by the American military.
His life was saved, however nobody could take care of him afterwards.
He needed lower leg prostheses in order to be able to walk again. The Luftbrücke Irak e.V. was able to help him.
The family Benedetto Padula from Peine offered to pay the costs of the prostheses, the care and the entry of Ibrahim and his grandfather.
Diwan, (6-years-old from Mosul)
He suffers from congenital blindness. The doctors in Iraq were not able to treat his ailment.
Through the assistance of the Deutsches Blindenhilfswerk and the eye clinic Duisburg, Diwan was brought to Germany for precise diagnosis and was operated.
We didn’t want to miss the chance to help the little Diwan.
